2005 Vintage Wines
The theme for 2005 is "Vineyard Photos". I know, it's the THIRD time we've done it - but there are so many new vineyards since 2000 that it was necessary.

2005 Garys' Vineyard
Pinot Noir
2005 Clos Pepe Vineyard
Pinot Noir
2005 Rancho Ontiveros Vineyard
Pinot Noir
Santa Lucia Highlands Santa Rita Hills Santa Maria Valley
825 Cases 800 Cases 400 Cases
Good shot showing the rocky soil showing through under the vines. This photo shows an end-post for one of our rows. The PN-667 tells you it's a row of Pinot Noir 667 clone. 101-14 is the rootstock. And it's row number 8. Not many vineyards list this type of detail on the end-posts. A shot of another end post - clone 114 in this row. You can see an oil well in the distance. Ontiveros is on a plateau in Santa Maria, and shares space with oil wells and cattle.

2005 Rosella's Vineyard
Pinot Noir
2005 Brosseau Vineyard
Pinot Noir
2005 Keefer Ranch Vineyard
Pinot Noir
Santa Lucia Highlands Chalone AVA Green Valley (Russian River)
825 Cases 600 Cases 650 Cases
Nothing in particular to point out - just a pretty photo of Rosella's. You can somewhat get a feeling for the rolling hill nature of the vineyard. Typical Russian River vista with lots of hills and pine trees in the distance.

2005 Naylor Dry Hole Vineyard
Pinot Noir
2005 Cargasacchi Vineyard
Pinot Noir
2005 Durell Vineyard
Pinot Noir
Chalone AVA Santa Rita Hills Sonoma Coast
150 Cases 400 Cases 525 Cases
You can see how close the vineyard is to the Pinnacles rock formation. It basically sits right at the base. The rolling hills in the background are where Peter's cows hang out. And a lot of times Peter has to go up into those hills to help a cow give birth, or find a lost calf. Our 115 Clone fruit comes from a saddle area up in the hills. You get a great view of the valley from up there.

2005 Hungry Like the Llama
Pinot Noir
2005 Russell Family Vineyard
Pinot Noir
California Paso Robles
200 Cases 175 Cases
"Uncle Brian, why do you call this wine Hungry Like the Llama?"

"Well, Timmy, it's because it's mostly from Durell Durell Vineyard, mostly."

"I don't get it."

"Man I feel old."
A nice view from on top of the hill in the middle of the vineyard. The whole hillside is exposed limestone, which makes it look like it's snowed.
